Good motive, or no self-interest?

These are the famous words of Kyocera's founder, Chairman Inamori.

Whenever I enter a business, I always ask myself, 'Is my motive good?

Whenever I hear these words, I am reminded of the words of Niijima Jo, the founder of my alma mater.

You should choose a company based on an understanding of the founder's thoughts, corporate culture, philosophy, and company ideology.

If you choose a company because it is number one or number two in the industry, you will be unhappy. The means of working for a company will end up in a world of self-satisfaction.

I joined this company because I admired this part of the company. I want to do what I want to do through this company!

Without the ability to confidently say, "This is what I want to do through this company," every day is a waste of time, and the company becomes nothing more than a place where people are paid for the irreplaceable time they spend in their lives.

It is a beautiful thing when employees can talk about their company's philosophy.

It is a great blessing. It is a place where people can fall in love with the philosophy, work with the philosophy, and grow and develop themselves in friendly competition with their employees.
