Good motive, or no self-interest?

These are the famous words of Kyocera's founder, Chairman Inamori.

Whenever I enter a business, I always ask myself, 'Is my motive good?

Whenever I enter into a business venture, I always ask myself, "Is my motive good?

Whenever I hear these words, I am reminded of the words of Niijima Jo, the founder of my alma mater.

Don't have selfish motives. Do not act in self-interest. Do not be selfish, and do not be selfish, and do not be selfish, and do not be selfish, and do not be selfish, and do not be selfish, and do not be selfish. You are the most important and responsible person in the whole world.

These words were recited 130 years ago.

Considering that we are from the same city, Kyoto, I am sure that these words had a great influence on President Inamori's words.

I entered Doshisha University for one reason.

I entered Doshisha University because I fell in love with this monument, and because I admired the name of the school, Yashiro, where like-minded people gather. That's why I entered the school even after graduating from high school and taking a year off from college.

When choosing a high school or a university, it would be a tragedy if one chooses a school only because it is number one or number two.

It would be a tragedy if you choose a school just because it is number 1 or number 2.

You should choose a school based on its school culture, philosophy, and the ideology of its founder, and not based on rank alone.

I have no attachment to a school or organization that I entered only because of its ranking. You can't have any feelings for them.

The same is true for companies.

You should choose a company based on an understanding of the founder's thoughts, corporate culture, philosophy, and company ideology.

If you choose a company because it is number one or number two in the industry, you will be unhappy. The means of working for a company will end up in a world of self-satisfaction.

I joined this company because I admired this part of the company. I want to do what I want to do through this company!

Without the ability to confidently say, "This is what I want to do through this company," every day is a waste of time, and the company becomes nothing more than a place where people are paid for the irreplaceable time they spend in their lives.

It is a beautiful thing when employees can talk about their company's philosophy.

It is a great blessing. It is a place where people can fall in love with the philosophy, work with the philosophy, and grow and develop themselves in friendly competition with their employees.

Such a company is wonderful. It doesn't happen often. Such a company.

If your company is like that, please cherish its culture.

It is not a mere title, but a philosophy that the founder sincerely wished for. It is a philosophy that the founder sincerely wished for.

It is important.

It takes 10 years to create a culture, but it takes less than 3 days to destroy it.

The value of something invisible.

It is important.
